Sports Injury Management

A significant proportion of sports and exercise related injury is directly attributable to impaired foot function, simply because the foot as a weight- bearing extremity is at its most vulnerable under stress. No matter how fit you are, small irregularities compounded by multiple foot strikes frequently result in traumatic injury somewhere in the foot ankle or leg.

Our management is based in evidenced based science we identify, critically appraise, and synthesize the best evidence from all available resources.

Injury Assessment

During your patient consult we investigate your presenting injury thoroughly. We carry out the following:

  • Movement Screening (how fluid the body moves)
  • Muscle Strength testing (muscle strength symmetry)
  • Joint range of motion testing
  • Biomechanical (lines of force through the body)
  • Gait Analysis (identify weak muscle groups)

AMA Podiatry sports podiatrists can help identify biomechanical and training factors that may lead to injuries. We also look at potential risk factors that may contribute to further complications.
